Abstract :
This thesis is a research on secondary superheater tube material using a literature study method obtained from several international journals.In the material of the secondary superheater tube, a failure was found in one part of the tube,the condition of the tube that had failed on its wall and the presence of deposits that were spread unevenly on the tube.To find out the root causes and mechanisms of tube degradation, a literature study or review of international journals is carried out. In secondary superheater tubes,failure occurs such as bending of the tube due to deposits in the tube wall.So the aim of this study is to determine the cause of damage to the secondary superheater tube. By analyzing international journals that have the same characteristics as PT.Lestari Banten Energi's secondary superheater tube. After conducting the analysis, it was concluded that the bending of the tube was caused by deposits in the tube so that the tube overheated and resulted in bending of the tube.Metallographic testing to determine the structure micro on the tube section,hardness testing to determine tube hardness, SEM-EDX testing to determine the thickness and chemical content of magnetite (Fe3O4) compound deposits on the inside and outside of the superheater tube.On the primary superheater tube there is mechanical degradation when compared to ASTM (American Standard Testing and Material) SA 213 T91 °.
