Abstract :
The Banten 3 Lontar Steam Power Plant (PLTU) condenser is a heat exchanger that uses its cooling water in the form of seawater to be used as condensing steam that comes out of the turbine to a condenser with low pressure Sea water used for condenser cooling water is processed first by separating biota - sea boita or incoming dirt. But not all of them can be separated because there are marine biota or small impurities that cannot be filtered, so that it can disturb the cleanliness in the pipes and condenser water box. This can cause the heat transfer process to be not optimal and the effectiveness of the condenser will decrease. In order to overcome the effectiveness of the condenser not decreasing, overhaul activity was carried out in unit 1. The overhaul activity was carried out from May to July 2019. For this study, the Log Mean Temperature Differential (LMTD) calculation method was used and the effectiveness of the factors that resulted in changes was used. on the condenser. The results of the analysis obtained from the calculation, for the Log Mean Temperature Differential (LMTD) before the overhaul was 12.521 oC and after the overhaul was 12.281 oC. For the value of the heat transfer rate before the overhaul is 541,316.646 kW and after the overhaul is 552,801,662 kW. And the effectiveness after overhaul is higher than before overhaul. The effectiveness value before overhaul (21 May 2019) was 0.518, while the effectiveness value after the overhaul (17 July 2019) was 0.549.
