Abstract :
OmbilinSteam Power Plant, West Sumatera has 2 units power plant with the capacity of 200 MW. Air heater is auxiliary equipment of a boiler that helps the combustion process in the furnace using flue gas.Ombilin steam power plant uses tubular type air heater. This research aims to determine the performance of the water heater unit 1 Ombilin steam power plantbased on load variations. From the analysis, it is obtained that the effectiveness of the air heater and boiler efficiency increase along with the load change. At a load of 60 MW the effectiveness value of the air heater is 69.27%, at a load of 75 MW the effectiveness of air heater is 72.40%, while at a load of 90 MW the effectiveness value increases to 75.90%. For boiler efficiency at a load of 60 MW the efficiency is 88.4522%, at a load of 75 MW the efficiency is 89.2875% and at a load of 90 MW the efficiency increases to 90.1689%.
