Abstract :
PLTU Lestari Banten Energi uses air preheater type tri-sector, vertical shaft, regenerative ljungstrom functions to increase the efficiency of the boiler. The heat exchange that occurs in the air preheater by utilizing the flue gas heat taken from the environment using PA fan and FD fan. The lack of effectiveness of the air preheater is due to the presence of air leakage which results in ineffective heat transfer and increases the amount of current required by the fan, there by reducing the efficiency of the generator. To find out the value of air leakage in the air preheater can use an approach on the value of O2 basis and to determine the value of the effectiveness of the air preheater can refer to the LMTD calculation, the number of transfer units (NTU) and heat capacity (C). The air preheater which has experienced a large decrease in efficiency needs to be overhauled to keep the air preheater in good reliability. Repair of the air preheater seal is very necessary to reduce leakage.
