Abstract :
The superheater pipe in the boiler is one of the most important components in a PLTU boiler. Damage to the boiler tubes was especially numerous in the superheater of PLTU Banten 3 Lontar, which contained economizer, evaporator, and superheater. Part of the tubes that often experience leakage are the parts of the pipes contained in the boiler, especially in the superheater. Factors causing damage such as corrosion, leakage, cavitation, water hammer, and pipe thickness. The cause of damage to the boiler tubes greatly affects the amount of steam used to turn the turbine so that it will reduce the output produced, therefore the authors examine to find out more clearly the factors causing it, which is expected to get a solution to reduce boiler tube damage and output produced more leverage. From the test results it can be concluded the process of boiler superheater tube damage due to additional elements that cause agitation, the element of chlor (Cl) triggers corrosion, and Flow induced Corrosion..
