Abstract :
The damage of turbine blade causes a decrease in power capacity. It has been evaluated to determine the cause of damage to prevent similar occurrences from returning. For this, a series of examinations include: visual inspection, material chemical composition, hardness test, and also Scanning Electron Microscopy/Energy Dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). Visual inspection indicates the location of corrosion tends to get worse on the front surface of the blade. The form of damage is round holes. EDS examination found oxygen (O), this compound will act as an anode which oxidizes related to iron.
