Abstract :
Gas Power Plant PT. PJB UP Muara Tawar Blok 1, which has been operating since 1985 with a capacity of 435MW, is definitely experiencing a decline in performance. So it needs to be studied about how efficient the PLTG is operating today. The calculation of the current generator performance is still based on the law of thermodynamics I, namely the analysis of thermal efficiency without considering exergy efficiency. The exergy analysis method is very appropriate to be used to encourage the achievement of the use of energy resources more effectively, because the exergy analysis makes it possible to determine the location, causes and true magnitude of the loss of a thermal system that is influenced by enthalpy, entropy and pressure. In this study an energy and exergy analysis was conducted on the PLTG system by using a comparison of variations in ambient temperature before overhaul and after overhaul. The results of the analysis carried out is the greatest destruction occurred in the combustion chamber. The greatest damage occurred in the condition before overhauling the GT 1.3 at 22.37 WIB with a value of 160,671 MW. Energy efficiency and exergy increased after overhauling, the highest increase in energy efficiency occurred in GT 1.2 at 13.16 WIB with a value of 34.23% while the highest exergy efficiency occurred at GT 1.1 at 22.37 WIB with a value of 31.67%.
