Abstract :
Soil on Toll JORR II Road Project, Kunciran - Serpong Section, Package I: Kunciran - Parigi (Sta. 39 + 798 ? Sta. 46 + 500) is a swamp land that can?t be used directly and requires stability to be used as subgrade on the highway. Chemical soil stabilization method using bentonite and cement is expected to increase soil bearing capacity. In this test the soil stabilization using bentonite has mixed variations of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 7.5%, and 10% cement from soil dry weight in order to determine the mixture content so that it could meet the criteria as a subgrade layer street. The result test obtained the optimum mixture of soil at 7 days ripening with bentonite levels of 2.5% and cement at 10%. The CBR result obtained 7.0339% where the value meets the bearing capacity standard of the soil in accordance with the provisions of Bina Marga which is more than 6% therefore it can be used as subgrade for the lower foundation layer (subbase).
