Abstract :
Utilization of industrial waste Marble powder derived from the rest of the cutting of marble is one of the industrial wastes. The resulting waste can not be solved will be a problem related to environmental aspects. In this study a paving block was made using cement waste as a cement substitution. Marble powder waste from Tulungagung Regency, East Java. The comparison of ingredients for making paving blocks is 1 (cement): 4 (sand). The research objective was to determine the compressive strength, water absorption content and optimum composition of the marble powder waste substitution material in the paving block. The composition of the use of marble powder waste as cement substitution in paving blocks is: 0%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% by weight of cement. Compressive strength testing is done at the age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days and for water absorption testing is done at the age of 28 days. The results of compressive strength testing of paving blocks aged 28 days in a row are as follows: 17.33 MPa, 18.33 MPa, 19.17 MPa, 17.83 MPa and 15.33 MPa. The optimum value is found in the variation of V? (20% of marble powder waste) with compressive strength of 19.17 MPa and water absorption of 4.12%. Based on SNI 03-0691-1996, the paving blocks produced in this study include the quality of B which can be used for parking lots
