Abstract :
Concrete is the most widely used construction in Indonesia. Material are made up of sand, rough aggregates, cement and admixture if you need it.The research used waste concrete piles with K500 quality which was used as a substitute for coarse
aggregate (gravel). The research is to know the characteristic of aggregate and to know how much their effect on compressive strength and absorption. The proportion on this research are 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% from the total weight of natural
aggregate. The tests of compressive strength with the age of 7 days, 14 days and 28 days and the absorption test with the age of 28 days. The results showed that the highest compressive strength was obtained in variation 3 of 25,666 MPa in
concrete samples using 50% recycled coarse aggregate + 1.5% superplasticizer at the age of 28 days. When compared with normal variation of concrete which has a compressive strength of 21,798 MPa at the age of 28 days, then this variation 3
concrete has a difference of 3,868 MPa to normal concrete. The increasing use of pile concrete waste as coarse aggregate (gravel) workers can cause the compressive strength of the concrete to decrease even though it has used a superplasticizer. This is because ordinary gravel and waste concrete pile have
different characteristics, such as the value of wear and absorption of piles which are higher than gravel, resulting in decreased compressive strength
