Abstract :
To determine the diameter of a channel that can be viewed from the flow of water that will go through the channel, the discharge used can be in the form of irrigation, drainage, drinking water, and hydropower needs depending on the
function of the channel to be built. In this research, an analysis of the determination of the diameter of the headrace tunnel is carried out to drain the flow of water needed by the hydropower plant in the Jatigede hydropower project. The need for water to generate a 110 MW hydropower plant is 73 m3 / second
with the type of turbine used is Francis, the data used to determine the diameter of the Jatigede hydropower headrace tunnel in the form of project irrigation data, hydropower technical data and Jatigede dam technical data. because the main priority of the Jatigede dam is the fulfillment of irrigation for the 87.840 ha area, to generate hydropower, irrigation water, raw water, and duty flow are used. From the data and calculation results that have been obtained, the results
obtained for the determination of headrace tunnel dimensions in terms of water discharge needs for the largest discharge that will generate hydropower is 97,28 m3 / second and the inner diameter of the headrace tunnel is 3,4 m, for the variation of
the rated relationship the head with the minimum discharge 29,79 m3/s to generate output is 45353,509 KW at a rated head elevation of 173,95 m.
