Abstract :
Soft clay soils often cause problems in the structure above which are caused by problems with weak bearing capacity, which can result in planning for the embankment to have a large amount of compression, therefore it is necessary to plan subgrade improvement piles to increase bearing capacity and accelerate the process of soil compression. So that the preloading method is needed to speed up the consolidation process and the calculation of the consolidation compression is 0.67 m. For the comparison of the time of reduction of PVD or without PVD using manual methods from the analysis of calculations that have been carried out, it is found that the planned embankment height (HR) is 6 m, so the length of time for subsidence without PVD (prefabricated vertical drain) is 42.23 years, and for time Soil subsidence using PVD for a triangular installation pattern is 26 weeks, while in the rectangular installation pattern it is 31 weeks. From the GeoSlope / w software results, it is found that the pile at a height of 5 m has a safety factor of 0.826, while the results of the Sigma / w software using a triangular mounting pattern pvd have a decrease of 0.018 m.
