Abstract :
The addition of ironwood sawdust ash waste in the brick-making process uses burnt ironwood dust as an environmentally friendly building material. This ironwood sawdust waste or ironwood sawing is used for research purposes to obtain water absorption, density, and compressive strength values. The brick
used is a brick that is not hollow (solid). The test to be made is a type of solid brick measuring 40 cm ? 20 cm ?10 cm. As many as 18 specimens to be carried out with ironwood powder
ashes added, with each test 6 water absorption, 6 density, 6 compressive strength. Tests using variations, namely 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 2%, 2.5%. In testing and research, brickwork includes testing of water absorption, density, compressive strength at the age of 28 days. From the test results, it was found that the maximum water absorption value at the age of 28 days was 22.85%, this value was obtained by the composition of ironwood powder ash of 1.5% including the first quality which has been determined by SNI 03-0349-1989. The maximum density value for 28 days of age is 1.78 gr / cm3. This value is obtained by the composition of normal ironwood powder ash. The maximum compressive strength value of 28 days is 45.88 kg / cm2, this value is obtained by the composition of ironwood powder ash as much as 1.5% including the third quality which has been
determined by SNI 03-0349-1989
