Abstract :
Construction in the development of infrastructure developed includes roads or bridges, one of which is the asphalt pavement layer. However, because Indonesia has a rainy season, it makes some areas that emit rain become flooded. That makes the asphalt layer weaker and can be damaged where asphalt does not have a cavity to run air to the ground. Therefore we need
asphalt that is able to escape the air. One alternative treatment with asphalt porous with polymer modification. The polymer material that can be mixed is LDPE Crackle Plastic (Low Density Polyethylene). This research was conducted to determine the properties of plastic LDPE Crackle Plastic (Low Density
Polyethylene) and its effect on the mixture of AC-WC Porphalt Asphalt (Concrete Asphalt User Course), the value according to AAPA specifications (Australian Asphalt Pavement Association) and optimal alternative asphalt. The study began with physical testing on each mixture, then making samples for the determination of KAO. Obtain KAO of 4.9% with Marshall test. Then the making of modified LDPE Crackle Plastic asphalt samples with varying levels of 0%, 2%, 4%, 6%, and 8% and continued with marshall testing. The results of the test, obtained
optimal levels of LDPE Crackle Plastic is 8% with a value of 699.7 Kg, VIM 20.89%, Flow 4 mm and Marshall Quotient (MQ) 174 Kg / mm. Of the optimal levels required, this meets the AAPA Specifications required for the manufacture of AC-WC Porous Asphalt.
