Abstract :
Paving block is one of the solutions from the industry to fill market needs and materials building that are bloom in use today. To improve the quality of paving block can be used substitution materials in the making. The purpose of this research to determine the compressive strength and water absorption values of the material substitution of bottom ash dan rice husk ash. In this research variations used is 0% (normal paving block), 10% BA + 0% ASP, 10% BA + 5% ASP, 10% BA + 10% ASP and 10% BA + 15% ASP. Compressive strength test is done at 7 days, 14 days and 28 days, while the water absorption test is done at 28 days. The results of compressive strength test for all variations at 28 days is 17,92 MPa; 18,75 MPa; 17,08 MPa; 15,67 MPa and 15,25 MPa. The results of water absorption test for all variations at 28 days is 4,40%; 5,37%; 6,14%; 6,50% and 7,08%. From the results of compressive strength test obtained the optimum compressive strength value is 18,75 MPa on paving block variation 10% bottom ash and 0% rice husk ash. The results of water absorption test is 4,40% on paving block normal.
