Abstract :
Paving blocks is one building material composition consisting of a mixture of PortIand cement or other adhesive, water and aggregate with or without other additives that do not reduce the quality of the concrete. Currently, many researches have been carried out to find alternative variations of materials to
produce efficient and well-characterized paving blocks, one of which is by utilizing rock waste such as granite waste as a substitute for cement with an ingredient ratio of 1 (cement): 4 (sand). The purpose of this study is to determine the value
of compressive strength and percentage of water absorption, the optimum composition of granite waste substitution and the optimal cost required for the production of paving blocks. The variation of the granite waste mixture used was 0% LBG, 2.5% LBG, 5% LBG and 7.5% LBG. The compressive strength test was
carried out on the 7th, 14th and 28th day, while the water absorption test was carried out on the 28th day. The water absorption is 7.34% which is based on SNI 03-0691-1996, the paving blocks produced in this study are of B quality which
can be used for parking lots
