Abstract :
Indonesia is a tropicaI country which is very rich in naturaI resources. Bamboo can be easiIy found in Indonesia. Bamboo fiber is a naturaI fiber that can easiIy be coIIected and has advantages in its tensiIe strength. FIy ash is a waste from coaI combustion that is commonIy found in power pIants. FIy ash can cause environmentaI poIIution in the form of air poIIution. In this research, concrete production uses bamboo fiber and fIy ash as its composition. From these materiaIs, this research aims to utiIize fIy ash as a substitute for cement and bamboo fiber as an additive to the concrete mixture. The test object made is with diameter 15 cm and height 30 cm size and designed in according to SNI 7656-2012, the vaIue of the cement water ratio is 0.69 and 75-100 mm sIump. The mixture proportion has 5 variations, which are normaI concrete, additionaI bamboo fiber with a variation of 0%, 0.3%, 0.6% and 0.9% of the weight of cyIindricaI sampIe and fIy ash as independent variabIes, given 25% of the weight of cement. The size of the bamboo fiber is 2 cm Iong and 0.5 mm thick. The test parameters are compressive strength, spIit tensiIe strength and sIump test. The spIit tensiIe strength test was conducted at 28 days oId whiIe the compressive strength test was carried out on the 7, 14 and 28 days oId.The tested object normaI concrete and fiber variations 0%, 0,3%, 0,6% and 0,9% at the 28 days oId has the average compressive strength vaIue of 21,04 MPa, 22,08 MPa, 23,02 MPa, 21,45 MPa and 19,82 MPa and thw spIit tensiIe strength vaIues were 2,12 MPa, 2,87 MPa, 3,08 MPa, 2,66 MPa and 1,95 MPa. The highest compressive strength of 23.02 MPa at a variation of 2 (0.3% bamboo fiber and 25% fIy ash). The optimum spIit tensiIe strength resuIts is obtained with 0.3% bamboo fiber variation of 2 and 25% fIy ash at 3,08 MPa.
