Abstract :
Paving blocks are often used for pavements, yards and parks. In this research, making paving blocks used bagasse ash as a substitute for cement and ceramic waste as a substitute for sand. This study aims to determine the value of compressive strength and water absorption of paving blocks using a mixture of bagasse ash and ceramic waste. The composition of materials for making paving blocks is 1 (cement) and 4 (sand) with variations of 0%, 5%, 10%, 15%, and 20% of ceramic waste as a substitute for fine aggregate and 10% of bagasse ash waste. as a cement substitute. This test is conducted to determine the compressive strength at the age of 7 days, 14 days, 28 days and water absorption at the age of 28 days. Based on the results of paving block testing at the age of 28 days, the result show that paving block are 13.4 MPa, 14.5 MPa, 14.9 MPa, 17.1 MPa, 16.9 MPa, 16.3 MPa respectively. The optimum pressure is in variation 3, namely the use of 10% bagasse ash waste and 10% ceramic waste with a compressive strength value of 17.1 MPa and water absorption of 5.9%, including the B quality used for parking lots
