Abstract :
Paving blocks are increasingly being used to complement buildings. Therefore, there are many new innovations in making paving blocks that are environmentally friendly and economical. One of them is the use of granite waste as a substitute for fine aggregate and lime as a substitute for cement, making the two materials an environmentally friendly paving block because it uses granite ceramic waste and uses rocks that are easy to find and quite economical in terms of price. The research objective is to find the optimum compressive strength, water absorption and composition values to find economical production costs. The variations used for granite and lime waste as a mixture of paving blocks are 0% Normal, 2.5% LBG + 1% Lime, 5% LBG + 1% Lime and 7.5% LBG + 1% Lime. The compressive strength test was carried out at the age of 7, 14, 28 days and water absorption was carried out at the age of 28 days. The results of the compressive strength test at 28 days of age for each variation are as follows: 21.08 MPa, 26.92 MPa, 21.25 MPa and 14.75 MPa and the results of the water absorption test for each variation are as follows 4.56 %, 3.84%, 5.18% and 6.42%. The optimum value of paving blocks uses granite and lime waste at a variation of 2.5% LBG + 1% lime with a compressive strength value of 26.92 MPa and a percentage of absorption of 3.84%. Based on SNI 03-0691-1996, the paving blocks produced in this study are of B quality which can be used for parking equipment. And the production cost obtained from the optimum composition is Rp. 1350 / Sample paving block, more economical Rp. 150 of the paving blocks on the market
