Abstract :
In the process of distributing electrical energy, it cannot be separated from a short circuit. If there is permanent short circuit fault, it is very difficult to trace the location of the fault. This may take a while. To minimize the occurrence of a prolonged blackout, a method is needed to determine the location of the disturbance point. One way that can be used in calculating the amount of short circuit current is by using the impedance method. The advantage of this method is that it is easy to implement andresults in accurate location estimates. Based on the recorded fault current data on the relay, the S phase is 7835 A, the R phase is 7903 A and the T phase is 8078. The fault data is matched with the results of the calculation of short circuit fault current on the 20 kV side using the impedance method. The value that is closest to the recorded fault current data is at the point of 5,184 km, the 3-phase fault current is 7337.2 A. Thus the disturbance can be directly localized to the disturbed segment to accelerate the length of the blackout due to the disturbance. If the disturbance is further away from the source or at the 1% fault point, the greater the noise current, while the closer the disturbance is to the source or at the 100% point, the smaller the noise current.
