Abstract :
Transmission lines have an important role in the process of electricity distribution. Based on the importance of the role of the transmission line, a reliable protection system is needed in order to be able to govern the power breaker (PMT) to separate the channel that is experiencing interference with the
channel which is still good. Each transmission network is equipped with a main protection system and backup protection to avoid operation failure. In this final project, we will discuss the main protection line relay differential current system in the conductor of GIS Suvarna - GI Cikupa. The working principle of the relay line current differential is to sum the incoming and outgoing currents in the protected area. The amount of relay settings is obtained from the calculation of the minimum pick-up current setting (Is1) of 0.15 A, because the calculation
results are close to the results of the installed settings, then the relay setting result Is1 is determined 0.2 A, with a slope of 20% to get high sensitivity in the relay work area. The result of relay setting Is2 is 2 A with 50% slope to provide the stability of the relay performance, when there is a large current disturbance
or external interference. The differential current relay line has only one working area, namely the conductor of GIS Suvarna - GI Cikupa, so that this relay cannot overcome the interference outside the conveying area.
