Abstract :
Boiler in one of the main component which exist in a power plant. If the decreasing efficiency is happening in boiler, would be coused the electricity which produced will decreate. Many methods have been done for increasing the PLTU efficiency, one of the method to increase the efficiency in a PLTU are by adding feed water heater and as a heater media is taken from the steam turbine extraction. Both of them are using to improve the feed water which would be heated before come into the boiler so it?s decreasing the work of the boiler. In PLTU Sebalang has 2 High Pressure Heater, 1 Deaerator and 3 Low Pressure Heater. Feed water heater system in PLTU Sebalang has made seri, so that if there is a problem in one of the feed water heater so all the feed water heater will be stopped. Where at existing efficiency condition around 38,32%, condition actual LPH offservice efficiency is decreasing to 36,30% and condition actual efficiency is decreasing to 35,87%. This mini thesist proposing to know how big the impact. If the feed water heater in offservice condition forward PLTU thermal efficiency and be variated as same as condition.
