Abstract :
Air pollution by coal ash is a pollution that is categorized as a very dangerous pollution and has a very large impact. Based on kep-13 / MENLH / 3/1995 + attachment IIB / kep- 205 / BAPEDAL / 07/1996) the particulate exhaust gas threshold in the power boiler is 230 mg / Nm3. Electrostatic Precipitator (ESP) is an alternative to catch dust emissions with very high efficiency (above 90%) with a large enough range of captured particles. By using ESP the total emission coming out of the chimney is expected to be only 0.16% (the effectiveness of dust capture is up to 99.84%). To maintain the efficiency of ESP performance, it is necessary to maintain the components of the ESP, especially in the collecting electrode, discharge electrode, transformer, rapper, and also replacement of some damaged components such as the collecting plate and clamp rapper. In this study, several maintenance methods were used to determine the conditions at the ESP PT. Merak Energi Indonesia. The methods used are preventive maintenance and predictive maintenance. From the research results it can be seen that the efficiency of ESP at PT. Merak Energi Indonesia amounted to 98.3%.
