Abstract :
A reliable electric power system is an electric power system that can supply energy continuously without interference. Disruption to the power system that can cause outages is unexpected. Power outages are caused by overload or short circuit current. Therefore the important role of protection as a safety on electrical equipment. One of the electrical equipment used in the electric power system is the distribution transformer, the distribution transformer can also be disrupted so that it is needed Niederspannung Hochleistung Fuse (NH Fuse) as a melt safety mounted on the LVSB in order to protect the transformer so that there is no need to replace new transformers that require very expensive costs. The NH Fuse rating must be calculated based on the capacity of the distribution transformer then adjusted to the Current Carrying Capacity (CCC) cable conductor. Paying attention to the use of NH Fuse on low voltage networks will also affect the reliability of the electric power system. At SSB substation with 250 kVA transformer capacity, NH Fuse 250 A is installed which is not in accordance with the standard of 80 A due to several factors such as demand for electricity supply from customers which continues to increase and is not accompanied by the addition of new distribution substations so that the transformer is forced to work above the standard
