Abstract :
The working process of a transformer is an important part of the distribution of electrical energy. Along with the operation of the transformer, the condition of the insulation resistance on the transformer coil can deteriorate so that it can cause interference with the transformer in the form of a short circuit current. The insulation resistance on the transformer coil is a resistance that exists between the transformer coils which are isolated from each other, so as to prevent a circuit current from occurring between the coils. Then short circuit current is the overcurrent produced by the fault regardless of the impedance between the two halves. Based on this, the insulation resistance test is carried out on the 20 kV distribution transformer coil, so that it can minimize the occurrence of short circuit disturbances between transformer coils. At the time of testing the insulation resistance before the disturbance, the resistances were HV-LV 70 G?, HV-Ground 56 G? and LV-Ground 25 G? which then decreased after experiencing interference to HV-LV 40 G?, HV-Ground 22 G? and LV-Ground 12 G? . From the measurement results, we can see that the value of the insulation resistance has decreased but not significantly. And on the results of the calculation of the short circuit current we know that the short circuit current that arises is 1805 A.
