Abstract :
In increasing the reliability of the distribution system at PT. PLN UP3 Marunda requires a protection system that has good capabilities to facilitate repairs in the event of a disturbance.
To solve the problems and problems that occur in the distribution system, a device called a Load Break Switch is needed which functions to connect and disconnect the network when it is loaded or not. As at PT. PLN Persero UP3 Marunda some substations or feeders that previously used PTS (Pole Top Switch), this caused too long outages when there was a
disruption and many Kwh losses were not sold, therefore at PT. PLN Persero UP3 Marunda replaced a more reliable protection device, namely LBS (Load Break Switch). This study aims to determine the point of disturbance that occurs in feeders, to know the difference before using LBS and after using LBS in feeder substations and to find out unsold KWh. To achieve the objectives of this study, analysis techniques were carried out, namely literature studies or looking for theoretical foundations, identification of problems or direct field observations, data collection using interview and observation methods, analysis of needs by processing data in order to obtain results and discussion. installation of LBS, an outage occurred on December 25, 2017, PLUMPANG substation in TANGKAS feeder with a long duration of outage of 283 minutes with the total unsold Kwh of Rp. 1,173,206,715, and after LBS installation there was an outage problem on December 17, 2019 PLUMPANG
substation in TANGKAS feeder with a long duration of outage of 80 minutes with the number of unsold Kwh of Rp. 318,510.3
