Abstract :
Advances in science and technology today make the need for electrical energy to increase in society. The rate of population growth which continues to increase is directly proportional to the increase in demand for electrical energy every year. This
has created new problems for the state electricity company (PLN). Not all of the electrical energy sources supplied by PLN are acceptable to consumers because some of them are lost in the form of power losses. Calculations to determine the value
of power losses using ETAP 12.6.0 (Electrical Transient and Analysis Program) software and manual calculations. The purpose of this study is to determine the value of the voltage drop due to power loss, then to compare the results of the two
calculations, namely manual calculations and using ETAP 12.6.0. The calculation analysis is carried out on the Golden feeder. Data were collected in one month. The introduction used is XLPE Aluminum with a conducting resistance of 0.206 ? / km for a cross-sectional area of 150 mm2 and a resistance of 0.125 ? / km for a carrying area of 240 mm2. The results of calculations using ETAP 12.6.0 show that the total losses
during the day are 22.3 kW and the total losses at night are 19.3 kW. While the results of manual calculations during the day, the total losses are 1.26 kW and at night are 1.07 kW. The resulting voltage drop is still within the tolerance limits of ± 5% and -
10%, so that the Golden feeder does not need a replacement of the conductor. After being simulated on ETAP 12.6.0, Golden feeder is still in a safe condition, it is
indicated by the presence of black on each bus.
