Abstract :
PT Barata Indonesia is a manufacturing company that produces turbine components such as condensors, turbine stators, and turbine angle directors. This production process requires overhead cranes that are used to lift and move material. However, several overhead crane units at this company often suffer damage due to loss of supply of one-phase motor, one of which is Demag's overhead crane motor on a 40-ton hoist mechanism, and causes the production process to be hampered and suffer losses. Because of the frequent loss of singlephase supply that enters the motor, a simulation tool is designed using prototyping methode. The design of this tool aims to prevent motor damage due to loss of supply of one phase. The results of this design will be locking the overhead crane and giving an alarm if there is a loss of supply of one-phase motor. With the results of the design of the simulation tool that has been made, it can be seen that the accuracy of the closing time and the release of a contact of a relay is needed to protect a motor from interference loss of one phase. The time
needed for the relay to give an alarm signal is 0.1 seconds.
