Abstract :
To meet the needs of electric power, the metro tv transmitting station uses electrical energy that comes from PLN. However, the electricity supply from PLN is not able to continuously provide electrical energy without interruption. So, to anticipate the disconnection of electricity from PLN, a building or building must provide its own electricity generator as a back-up of electrical energy in the form of a UPS and generator set (Genset). From the above calculations, the total installed load at the metro tv transmitter transmission station is 340kW. For use, the highest peak load that occurred in February 2020 was 250,108kW. For the generator power capacity, after the calculation, it must be 451,034kW. The generator set is used with a power capacity of 400kW. The efficiency of the generator when the generator works for 1 hour is still relatively low at 38.5%. This is because, when the generator works, the load on the generator is also low, namely 45.27% of the total building load of 340.147kW. The rate of fuel use from the above calculation can be seen that the generator fuel consumption for one hour with an output power of 154kW by spending 40.42 liters / hour of diesel fuel. From the data in the field, the battery capacity in back-up loads is 41 minutes before proceeding to the generator. The back-up power is 155kW (transmission only) and the installed power on the UPS is 400 KVA (UPS power must be greater than the power on the load so that the safety does not trip and to maintain load stability).
