Abstract :
Transformer is one of the most important things in power generation. In the PLTBm construction project with a capacity of 3 x 1000 kW at PT. Flofidz Volta Sejahtera has a problems in determining the capacity of a transformer on using 1 transformer and 3 transformer units. The capacity of the transformer when using 1 unit transformer is 4000 KVA but there will be a problems such as the presence of an inrush current in the transformer with a very high value so that its activates the OCR (Over Current Relay) relay and causes the side of the GCP panel and the gas engine to trip and can cause reserve power. Transformer capacity when using 3 transformer units is 1600 KVA per unit. using this transformer is suitable for this project because each gas engine has 1 transformer unit and also has the aim of maintaining the life of the transformer itself so that later the transformer can work in the 70% area and can avoid transfromator damage and periodic maintenance on the transformer part and For the OCR (Over Current Relay) relay setting, increase it to 2 times to avoid the inrush current value on the outgoing panel.
