Abstract :
The distribution system is said to have good quality, that is, if the power system operates, there is no blackout. Frequent blackouts with long outages and unstable power supply voltages are a reflection of the poor reliability and quality of electricity, where the consequences can be felt directly by customers. So we need a tool that is more efficient and relatively inexpensive to meet the recovery time in finding the intermediate voltage network fault points. PT. PLN UP3 Bandengan uses an investigation tool, namely the Ground Fault Detector (GFD). Ground Fault Detector is a tool in detecting medium voltage network disturbances to help speed up finding trouble spots in feeders. This type of final project writing uses quantitative methods with the stages of research, literature studies, data processing, analysis and final project creation. The resulting comparison to find the point of interference in the OMBAK feeders that have not installed GFD and the OMBAK feeders that have GFD installed has a very big difference, from the results of research that the impact of installing GFD at each substation will help accelerate the investigation of disturbances and reduce the time of blackout, as well as minimize losses obtained from the sale of electricity from PLN, before the installation of GFD on the OMBAK feeder there were 3 disturbances which had a total outage time of 217 minutes with 10,663 kWh unsold losses of 10,663 kWh, After installing the GFD the impact was reducing the length of time off from a total of 3 interruption to 85 minutes with an unsold kWh loss 5,565 kWh.
