Abstract :
This thesis discussion is focused on performance analysis of Turbofan CFM56-7B26 engine which is widely used on commercial aircraft with Boeing 737 NG type. Performance tests are performed only at the Maximum Continuous operating level on Test Cell testing after going through the Maintenance Engine process. Maintenance is carried out so that the performance of the Turbofan engine remains at its best performance at the time of operation for either the achieved Thrust parameters or the efficiency of fuel use (Fuel Consumption). The discussion is done by performing manual calculations in accordance with the equations of the manual book engine to see the truth of the results obtained on Test Cell test for Turbofan CFM56-7B26 engine. Discussion is also going to see the relevance of EGTM value with SFC. After calculation in accordance with the equation of the manual book Turbofan engine CFM56-7B26 for engine serial number A1 at Maximum Continuous operating level then obtained the value of Thrust 25748 lbs, Compressor Pressure Ratio (CPR) 27.2192, Exhaust Gas Temperature Margin (EGTM) 49.7oC, and Specific Fuel Consumption (SFC) 0.3757 lb/hr. Viewed from Thrust and Exhaust Gas Temperature Margin, the conclusion from this discussion is Turbofan CFM56-7B26 engine for serial number A1 engine at Maximum Continuous operating level has good performance and feasible to be operated again.
