Abstract :
Air Dryer is a refrigeration type air dryer which uses Refrigerant as a cooling medium. Air dryer is a cooler that is used to absorb water contained in the air from the compressor. The air dryer's working system itself is almost the same as a general cooler. But this Air Dryer produces dry air for the pneumatic valve drive in the generator. To find out the importance of dry air for the PT PJB UP Muara Karang PLTGU unit and especially in comparing the heat load used. Therefore, to compare the heat load the heat load method is used to calculate the engine capacity and also the load used. Therefore, the writer examines with the title "Analysis of Air Dryer Heat Load on Instrument Air Service in Muara Karang Blok II PLTGU". Thus the results obtained that the Air Dryer heat load is 22732,8008 Kcal/hr greater than the installed capacity of the Air Dryer machine of 13243,751 Kcal/hr. So that more maintenance is needed, the addition of a Cooling Tower so that the engine capacity can meet the heat load used or the addition of one Air Dryer unit with the same engine capacity.
