Abstract :
Transformers are useful for transforming power (current and voltage) AC systems to other current and voltage systems at the same frequency, transformers in the distribution of electric power need to be quality maintained in order to work reliably and have a long life, one of the factors that reduce the life of the transformer is from loading and ambient temperature. where in its manufacture the transformer is designed to work with an ambient temperature of around 20? with an operating life of 20.55 years, obtained at the transformer unit 2 GI Tangerang Lama with an ambient temperature of 31.95? and a load of 27.37 MVA, obtaining a life loss of 0.0141 with a residual the age of the transformer is 20.5359 years, and the unit transformer 4 GI Jatake is loaded with a load of 47.99 MVA or 79.98% and the ambient temperature is 35.61?C, the life shrinkage is 0.5112 with a remaining life of 20.0387 years, can be explained the greater the value of the ambient temperature and the value of the loading on the transformer, the greater the value of the transformer's life shrinkage, for k reduce it can be done by maneuvering the network on the distribution network
