Abstract :
The differential relay is one of the main protection relays in the transformer which works very quickly and selectively so that it does not work with time delays or coordinates with
other existing relays. The problem that occurs in the relay is that the relay cannot work when an internal fault occurs in the transformer caused by component damage to the relay.
there is . The results for setting the differential relay operating current on transformer 5 are quite different from what happened in the field. The setting current obtained from the
calculation results by multiplying the slope and restraint current is 0.019 A, but the setting current in the field is 0.2 A. This difference occurs due to several factors, namely CT error
(10%), excitation current (1%) , mismatch (4%), and safety factor (5%), lead error (10%). The difference in the calculation carried out with the data in the field is because the field data takes into account several factors such as unbalance current and inrush current.
