Abstract :
The value of the grounding resistance is influenced by the depth of the electrode implantation. This measurement research was carried out at the Pondok Kopi Area Distribution Substation using the 3-point method by implanting electrode rods at different depths. At the time of taking measurements there were results of inappropriate resistance values so that improvements were made, namely at the KD47C substation the 2nd measurement of 3.87 , the results were improved to 0.38 with the addition of 1 electrode and parallel. While at the KD47C substation the 3rd measurement, which is 23.60 , was corrected by 0.12 and the 4th measurement, which was 12.86 , was repaired to 0.02 . By adding 5 electrode rods, they are parallelized because the resistance value is too large. Because the more the number of electrode rods, the result of the value of the grounding resistance will be good or good. To get a good grounding resistance value, a grounding electrode is planted using a solid copper rod with a certain diameter and depth that is most suitable for the type of sand and dry gravel. From this study, the results obtained, on dry sand and gravel soil conditions using solid copper grounding electrodes with a diameter of 5/8 inch or 15.99 mm which obtained a grounding value of < 1 at a depth of 5 m. at each depth of 0.25 m.
