Abstract :
Transformer oil is a liquid insulating material that functions as an insulating medium in transformers. As an insulating medium, transformer oil must have the ability to withstand breakdown voltages. The breakdown voltage test with variations in transformer oil temperature is carried out to see the effect of increasing and decreasing the load that often occurs in transformers on the breakdown voltage value. The research method used is the experimental method with two samples of transformer oil. Data analysis was carried out by measuring the average breakdown voltage and dielectric strength value. The breakdown voltage of used transformer oil of the hyrax brand at a temperature of 40°C, the breakdown voltage of 30.08 kV and a temperature of 45°C, the breakdown voltage of 35.38 kV, and the breakdown voltage of the new transformer oil of the hyrax brand at a temperature of 40°C, the breakdown voltage of 40. ,81 kV/2.5 mm, temperature 45°C the breakdown voltage value is 43.41 kV/2.5 mm, there is an increase in the breakdown voltage value in both oil samples. The dielectric strength value of used hyrax brand transformer oil at a temperature of 40°C the dielectric strength value of 120.32 kV/cm and a temperature of 45°C the dielectric strength value of 141.5 kV/cm, and the dielectric strength value of the new hyrax brand transformer oil at 40 °C dielectric strength value 163.24 kV/cm and temperature 45°C dielectric strength value 173.64 kV/cm, there is an increase in transformer oil dielectric strength value in both oil samples.
