Abstract :
Bay Pasar Kemis Baru at Gajah Tunggal substation uses a combination of SKTT and SUTT or hybrid power transmission. But cirulating current protection relay for SKTT protection has not been installed. The impact of the selectivity of the protection system may decrease because it cannot finding the fault location to make the PMT reclose or final trip. For this problem, this study aims to create additional protection zones specifically for SKTT using the zone programmabel feature in relay distance. This research uses quantitative method by calculating the setting of line current differential relay and relay distance. Then create a programmable scheme logic to send an autoreclose lockout signal if the zone programmable trip. But when the disruption is not felt by the programmable zone then pmt will reclose according to the disturbed phase. Calculation result of Zona1 relay setting: 1.48 ?82°? (0ms); Zone2: 2.324 ?82°? (400 ms); Zone3: 3.805?82°? (1600ms); ZonaP: 0.5?75.16°? (0ms) and Is1=0.2A; Slope1=30%; Is2=2A; Slope2=150%. From the calculation obtained the results of instant trip testing <30 ms when the disruption was in Zone P. So it can be concluded that this protection scheme has been successfully applied in the Gajah Tunggal Substation.
