Abstract :
The grounding system is a system that aims to eliminate the potential difference in components, so that when there is a leakage current or voltage, the leakage current will flow directly to earth. The purpose of this grounding system is to prevent damage to other components due to fault currents. A good grounding value must meet the requirements, namely the R value is close to 0 or 1 Ohm. This study discusses the grounding installation network system in the Suvarna Sutera GIS. The aim is to determine the condition of the ground resistance in the switchyard area and also the ground resistance of the equipment. For the measurement of the ground resistance, using the measurement method with an Earth Tester and 2 auxiliary pins. The calculation of the value of the grounding resistance of the system in the Suvarna Sutera GIS uses the main parameter data, namely the soil type resistance and the size data of the electrodes used. The results shown are the value of ground resistance in the Suvarna Sutera GIS still meets the IEEE std-80 2000 standard, which is 0.29 ?. Where the standard value of grounding resistance in electric power transmission installations must be at least 1 ?.
