Abstract :
The power breaker (PMT) functions as a medium for extinguishing electric arcs when there is a disconnection of electric current (load current or fault current) and as insulation between live parts (fixed contact with moving contact in the breaker chamber) in the PMT. Currently, SF6 gas is widely used in PMT or GIS (Gas Insulating Switchyard) ranging from 20 kV to 500 kV because SF6 gas has better characteristics than other types of breaker media. Measurements of the quality of SF6 gas include pressure, impurities, temperature, humidity and water vapor content, and product decomposition. In measuring the quality of SF6 gas, the gas pressure measured at PMT 7B2 before replacing SF6 gas is 7.18 bar and after replacing SF6 gas it is 7.03 bar. The impurity ranges from 97%, the humidity point before replacement is -44.27 degrees Celsius and after replacement it is smaller by -41.33, the product decomposition before being replaced is in the R phase 78.4, the S phase 81.9, and in the T phase 128.5 and after being replaced it becomes the R 110.3, S phase 51.66, and in T phase 120.5.
