Abstract :
Substation is one of the places to flow energy from generation to consumers. In the substation there is equipment that supports its performance, one of which is a separator. The device functions as a breaker and reconnection of the load current in an unloaded state. The separator must be regularly maintained, its maintenance and maintenance maintenance. Contact resistance is one of the tests. This test is carried out to determine the resistance value of the Separator contact according to the standard. A high resistance value affects the power loss, because the power loss is the square of the current multiplied by the resistance of the contact. This study was conducted to review its effect on power loss and energy loss by comparing the value of the contact resistance in 2020 and 2021. The results obtained from the relatively small power loss are the highest power in 2021 phase R, which is 6.417 Watt or 0.006417 kW. Meanwhile, the lowest power loss is in phase T in 2020, which is 3.467 Watt or 0.003467 kW. The contact value also affects the temperature, where the higher the contact resistance, the higher the flowing temperature, so that the contact on the Separator can no longer withstand the temperature according to its ability and an explosion occurs at the Separator contact and causes a trip.
