Abstract :
Distribution substation inspection is a periodic checking activity at the substation which is intended to check the components contained in the substation to find out if there are disturbances in the components in the substation. The more routine inspections, the maximum effectiveness in the distribution of electrical energy to customers by minimizing disturbances and inspections will minimize the implementation of maintenance in finding disturbances and repairing and cleaning all components in the substation. The problem that is often found in distribution substations is a 20 kV cubicle indicated by corona. Corona is an ionization process of air molecules in which around the conductor wire there are free electrons that move and crash into air molecules, so that electrons will be released so that the electrons will multiply around the conductor. From this process there is a discharge that can result in the failure of the insulation in the air. Corona can damage the equipment in the cubicle and cause power losses in the 20 kV cubicle. To find power losses, data are needed including temperature, humidity (RH), and breakdown voltage (g0). A cubicle is said to be corona if the voltage of the corona appearance (Vn) is greater than the single-phase voltage on the conductor (V), meaning that the cubicle is indicated as corona. In the calculation results at the KL 232 substation, the result is Vn: 5.92 kV because it is smaller than the single-phase voltage on the conductor (11.56 kV) then a corona occurs at the KL 232 substation
