Abstract :
Heat Exchanger is a heat exchanger that functions to change the temperature and phase of a type of fluid. The process is by utilizing heat transfer process from high temperature fluid to low temperature fluid. Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger is one type of heat exchanger, where heat exchangers are commonly used in the generator process. At PT. INDONESIA POWER UPJP Priok, the heat exchanger used is Close Cooling Water (CCW). Where Close Cooling Water (CCW) is a heat exchanger which is useful for cooling the heat-temperature fluid that has cooled the components of the generator by using the cooling fluid which is the fluid coming from the sea. Because the cooling process in this CCW uses fluid from the sea, there is often a clogging of the tube. From the results of the study, it was found that after washing there was a decrease in fouling from 5.4769 Kw / m^2 ? to 5.4206 Kw / m^2 ?, and with the LMTD value from 8.21 ? to 8.33 ?, after washing the effectiveness at CCW increased from 0.38 to 0.47. So that it can be seen that maintenance activities in CCW washing are carried out to increase CCW performance.
