Abstract :
In the distribution of electric power systems, of course, each component in it plays an important role to obtain the desired reliability. On the transmission line itself there are various equipments that support in the process of power distribution. Disruptions often occur in equipment located in substations so these equipments require protection against potentially harmful and harmful interference. Transformer is one of the equipment located in the Substation. Transformers have an important role in the distribution of electric power systems, even dubbed as the "Heart" of electric power systems given their important functions. Transformers also need maximum protection to support their performance. Differential Relay is the main protection contained in Transformer 5 GIS Pulogadung. In carrying out its functions, a good adjustment is required for the relay to work to the maximum by taking into account several existing parameters that include nominal current, CT ratio, slope, differential current and restraint current by performing data retrieval in GIS Pulogadung. The spinning current obtained from the calculation is 0.231 A while in the actual setting is given 0.3 A which takes into account various aspects including inrush current when the energyator transformer and transformer excitation current is considered so that the relay will work if the minimum current it feels is 0.3 A. After the tuning of the relay is then tested either individually or function test to determine the performance of the relay optimally.
