Abstract :
The installation of split air conditioners on economy class trains is to replace the fan. The concern is the effect of using split AC on the capacity of the generator and the effectiveness of the use of the generator capacity. The purpose of the analysis of the use of split AC is to determine the effectiveness of the use of split AC on the generator capacity on economy class trains. The research method used is descriptive quantitative to process data in the form of calculations, comparative methods to compare, and library methods. From the results of the analysis it was found that the replacement of a generator with a capacity of 160 KVA to meet the power supply for the installation of a split AC, based on the results of the calculation of the effectiveness of the data processing of the Serayu 1 and Serayu 3 trains, the size and design specifications of the door frame, the dimensions of the thickness of the glass. and the blackness of the laminate made on the executive train is different from that of the economy car, thus adding to the air conditioning load of the economy train which only comes from the split air conditioner.
