Abstract :
Great uncertainty and the direction of short-circuit current on the transmission line cause distance relays to be needed as the main protection by relying on the detection of what the voltage value from the interference point to the point of installation of the relay with the current set on the relay. The comparison gets an impedance value to determine which zone to protected. This study uses data collection methods related to distance relay current transformer ratio, voltage transformer, current and voltage value, transformer parameter data, transmission cable, distance relays of GI Citra Habitat ? Tigaraksa and specification distance relay at Citra Habitat ? Tigaraksa. The data that has been obtained is then calculated mathematically using literature rules and formulas that aim to determine the impedance setting value of the working area of the GI Citra Habitat ? Tigaraksa distance relay based on zones 1, 2, and 3. The result of the calculation of GI Citra Habitat impedance obtained the impedance of Zone 1 = 1.388345 ?, Zone 2 = 2.49902 ?, and Zone 3 = 4.165035 ?. The adjustment of impedance can be said to be ideal and accurate by evidenced by the small difference in impedance between zones namely Zone 1 = 0.001655 ?, Zone 2 = 0.01098 ?, and Zone 3 = 0.014965 ?. The distance relay characteristics are Mho for phase and Quadrilateral disturbances for phase-neutral disturbances.
