Abstract :
Generators are electrical equipment / machines that can convert mechanical energy into electrical energy with the principle of electromagnetic induction. This study aims to determine and analyze the state of the efficiency of the generator unit 1 of the Bakaru hydropower plant, compare the efficiency of the generator between the actual data and the design data, then find out what maintenance is carried out when the efficiency of the generator unit 1 of the Bakaru hydropower plant begins to decline at 80%. Along with the passage of time efficiency / life time on the generator will decrease because there is an influence from the load generated by the generator. If the efficiency of the generator is below 80%, it can reduce the use of the generator which affects the life of the generator. In this study, the method used is to collect generator loading data, then calculate the total losses, excitation power, then calculate the efficiency of the generator for each load generated on the generator. The result of the research shows that the actual data generator efficiency value is 97.96% with the design data 98.16%. If we compare the design data with the actual data, the comparison is 0.2%. This shows that the efficiency of the generator unit 1 of the Bakaru Hydroelectric Power Plant has decreased greatly and has resulted in excellent work in generating electrical energy.
