Abstract :
The reliability of the electric power system is one of the things that is very concerned about in order to maintain the main performance of PT. PLN. The electric power system itself consists of three main components, namely the generator system, transmission system and distribution system. The electricity that has been generated from the generating system is sent through the transmission and distribution network to the load with good quantity and quality. One of the main components of the electric power distribution system is an insulator. An insulator is a device that functions as a place to support the wire that conducts the network on electric poles that are used to electrically separate two or more wires in order to avoid current leaks or sparks that can cause damage to the electric power grid system so that inspection is required. or insulator maintenance. Maintenance of insulators is a series of activity processes in the form of cleaning or replacing insulators with the aim of maintaining conditions and ensuring that the insulators can function properly so that they can be prevented if there are obstacles that cause damage. This activity aims to increase the resistance, availability and efficiency of insulators, to extend the life of the insulators, reduce the risk of equipment failure or damage, increase equipment safety, and reduce the length of time outage due to disturbances
