Abstract :
This research was carried out with the aim of improving the value of the grounding resistance at the foot of the 150 kV transmission tower on the Pasar Kemis Lama ? Cikupa line. Measurement of the value of grounding resistance using the Earth Tester, measurements were carried out on 19 towers carried out at PT. PLN (Persero) ULTG Cikupa on the 150 kV SUTT line from Pasar Kemis Lama - Cikupa. The low grounding resistance is useful for reducing lightning strike currents and overcurrents. The permissible transmission tower foot resistance is less than 10 Ohms. However, at ULTG Cikupa the grounding resistance of the tower leg above 1 Ohm has been included in the repair list, this is done to ensure the depth of the PLN transmission system, especially at ULTG Cikupa. Over time, the ground resistance of the 150 kV transmission tower of the Pasar Kemis Lama ? Cikupa line has changed, where there is an increase in the value of soil resistance every year. This is caused by several factors, one of which is corrosion. Efforts are made to improve the resistance value, namely by routine maintenance and grounding repair. Grounding improvements can be made by adding one electrode rod with a diameter of 1.9 cm with an electrode implantation depth of about 2 m to 5 m based on research analysis with standards from IEEE Std 142-2007 IEEE Recommended Practice for Grounding of Industrial and Commercial Power Systems.
