Abstract :
This final project entitled the effect of load changes on the efficiency of a gas engine power generator in the city of Baubau, Southeast Sulawesi, the purpose of this study is to calculate the efficiency of the generator and calculate the power losses in the Baubau power plant generator. Generator efficiency is obtained from the results of calculations based on the comparison of generator output power and generator input. The greater the generator output power, the greater the efficiency value, because the generator efficiency value is strongly influenced by the load used according to the load installed on a generator. This research was conducted with a quantitative approach used to make it easier for researchers to calculate the efficiency and losses of generator 4 contained in the Baubau power plant. The conclusion of this study is seen from the calculation results that the efficiency value of the generator varies from May 23 to May 28 ranging from 82.18% to 89.11%, and it is proven that the efficiency value depends on the value of the generator output power. The importance of maintenance and maintenance of supporting equipment for the operation of a power plant must be carried out in order to produce maximum demand for its operation
